How to make a Wi-Fi QR code
Enter your network.
Copy the Wi-Fi name and password exactly, including capital letters and spaces. Choose WPA / WPA2 for a personal network, WEP for a legacy network, or No password for an open network. Mark Hidden network only if your router hides its name.
Save your code.
The QR appears as you type. Download a PNG, or select Print / Save PDF and use your browser’s print dialog. Keep the classic black code for easy scanning, or customize its frame.
Scan. Confirm. Connect.
On a compatible phone, open the camera or QR scanner, point it at the code and confirm the join prompt. Test the saved image with your actual network before printing it for guests.

Keep a small card for visitors. Use a guest network if you want to share internet access separately from your main network.
At the counter.
Put your guest Wi-Fi code where customers can scan it. No sign-up page or JustMakeQR redirect gets in the way.

Do you store my Wi-Fi password?
No. The network name and password are processed in this browser tab and never uploaded to JustMakeQR. We use no visitor analytics, tracking cookies or browser storage for these details. Your browser may retain form state according to its own settings.
Can someone read the password from the QR code?
Yes. The Wi-Fi QR contains the network name and, for a protected network, its password. It is an easy way to share access, not encryption. Anyone with the image can decode it. Share a guest network rather than a private network where appropriate.
Will it work on iPhone and Android?
Many current iPhone and Android camera or QR-scanner apps recognize Wi-Fi codes and offer a join prompt. Support depends on the phone, scanner and network settings. If you only see text, try the phone’s built-in QR scanner. Always test with the phones your guests use.
What security option should I choose?
Use WPA / WPA2 (personal) for networks with a shared password, WEP for a legacy WEP network, or No password for an open network. This tool does not configure enterprise networks with individual logins or certificates. WPA3-only networks may need another sharing method; compatibility depends on your device and router.
Does the code expire?
JustMakeQR sets no expiry date and requires no subscription. The code works only while the encoded Wi-Fi name, password and network settings remain valid. Change those details and you need a new QR image.
Can I create a QR for a hidden network?
Yes. Check Hidden network to include the hidden-network flag. Your device must support that flag and be within range of the network. If joining fails, confirm your router settings and test another compatible scanner.
Why does scanning fail to connect?
Check the exact network name, password, security type and hidden-network setting. Spaces count. Make sure the network is in range and that the phone supports it. For printed codes, keep a clear white margin and high contrast. Some networks also require a separate web login after connecting.
Can I print a Wi-Fi sign or download a PDF?
Yes. Download PNG saves the QR image. Print / Save PDF opens your browser’s print dialog, where you can select Save as PDF. Add a frame or caption under Customize your QR, then scan-test the finished design at its printed size.
Uses the Wi-Fi QR format documented by ZXing. For other content, use the general QR code generator.
What stays private
Your QR content is not our data. We don’t upload or store the text, URLs, contact details, Wi-Fi passwords or logos you enter. The generator runs in your browser, with temporary working state in this tab. There is no account database or saved-code dashboard.
No visitor tracking in this page. We don’t use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, tracking cookies or browser storage to record your activity. The QR library is served with the site rather than loaded from a third-party CDN.
The hosting boundary. GitHub Pages serves this website and may retain standard request logs, including IP addresses, as part of operating the service. That is separate from your QR content, which the tool does not transmit. Your browser may also retain history, downloads or form state according to its own settings.
The code is meant to be read. Anyone who can scan your QR code can read what is encoded in it. A linked website or service has its own privacy practices. Don’t put secrets in a QR code you plan to share publicly.
